What are PL Lamps?
Traditional PL lamps are the old style compact flourescent lamps (CFLs) and come in a few different base configurations. The most common is the G24 lamp where the different bases are defined by the number of pins and the location of the dowel on the base. The bases include G24d (“d” means double pins) and G24q (“q” means quad pins), and both of these have three variations like G24d-1, G24d-2, G24d-3, and G24q-1, G24q-2, G24q-3. The number at the end defines the position of the dowels which determine the wattage of the bulb as shown below.
Note that all G24 bulbs have a 21mm long plug on the base. Lamps with shorter plugs (15mm) are GX24 lamps and are not compatible with G24 lamps.
Which LED G24 Lamp?
LEDstuff G24 LED lamps are universal and are compatible with all 6 types of G24 lamps shown above. They have two diagonal pins and no dowels so they fit all types of G24 fittings.
Note that the external ballast must be removed or bypassed as these lamps require 230V AC to be wired directly to the pins.
